TOPIC: THE DOWNFALL OF DAGON
TEXT:1 SAMUEL 5:1-6
MEMORY VERSE: "And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again" (1 SAMUEL 5:3).
According to Francis Frangipane, "The greatest battle that was ever won was accomplished by the apparent death of the victor, without even a word of rebuke to His adversary!"
The Ark of Covenant, representing the presence of God, was captured in war, and was carried into the house of Dagon, the god of the Philistines. By next morning, Dagon had fallen before the Ark, signifying the victory of Jesus Christ over Satan. Although "they took Dagon, and set him in his place again", yet "when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face" again!
You will certainly keep falling back into sin except you meet Jesus. He is waiting. If you are born again and some enemies are trying to make you afraid, remember, He that is in you (Jesus), is greater than he that is in the world.
Are they occultists, mermaid spirits, and witchdoctors? Fear not, you have overcome them by the blood of the Lamb, the Word of God and the name of Jesus. All demons will fall before you.

CHALLENGE: Permanent victory comes only through Jesus.
PRAYER: Hold me, Lord, lest I fall.
