TOPIC: OBEDIENCE FIRST
TEXT: COLOSSIANS 3:20-25
Key Verse: "Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord" (Colossians 3:20).
It is good and safe to obey your parents, in the Lord, always. When obedience becomes your habit, you will be successful in whatever you do. Not only that, you will also be able to avoid trouble and rebuke.
A boy named Paul made it a habit to obey his father all the time. One day, Paul was playing under a big mango tree in the backyard of his father's house. His father was reading newspapers upstairs.
After some time, Paul's father suddenly shouted, "Don't talk where you are Paul, lie down on your stomach and start to crawl back to the house and do not stand up."
When Paul had crawled into the house, his father asked him to look up at the top of the mango tree, and behold, a big cobra snake was on one of the branches of the tree. If Paul had delayed to obey his father, the snake would have bitten him.
Obedience helps you live long, brings the blessing and favour of God upon you, and makes God and your parents love you. Pray and decide that, God helping you, you will always obey your godly parents. It shall be well with you in Jesus' Name.
Prayer: O Lord, help me to obey You and my godly parents at all times.
