TOPIC: THE HOUSE OF PRAYER
TEXT: MATTHEW 21:12-13
Key Verse: "And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves" (Matthew 21:13).
Jesus clearly states the purpose of God's House. Some children go to Church to cause trouble and fight. Some go there to steal and sleep. Others go there to hear the word of God and pray. Which group do you belong to?
The church of God is a 'House of Prayer'. Any place where two or three people gather every time, in the name of Jesus to pray, is a 'House of Prayer'. Jesus is present there with His power and blessings.
Satan does not want you to pray. Do you notice that you can talk, play and chat till late in the night, but when it is time to pray, you suddenly begin to feel tired, drowsy and restless?
Remember that Prayer is the Master Key to open any closed door in your life. The closed door to salvation, spiritual growth, success, healing and provision can only be opened by sincere and fervent prayers.
It is right to say nothing worthwhile happens in the life of a child of God and the world as a whole without prayer. The question is how often do you pray? Do you enjoy praying? God answers all prayers except the prayers offered in sin and iniquity (Psalm 66:18).
Prayer: Lord, please teach me how to pray.
